The Terminator – a classic sci-fi film, is it still a good film, is it a good sci-fi film if you never watched it yet? Let us find out in my fresh review… And of course, there’s some dark childish sexual humour in this review so bottle up buttercups.

Intro

The Terminator was released back In the good old days of the ’80s, and I remember watching the terminator then and I remember how much I shit my pants in this film cause that Terminator “arm old Swazza person” was incredibly intimidating

He was fricking huge at least “ten inches” and also he was very muscular and scared the shite out of me! But I kept watching it and loved every second of it.

Also stars Machalgilio Bean and Linda Hamandstiltonpie!

Interesting side fact, Did you know O.J. Simpson was going to be in the lead role as The Terminator?

I’m sure he would also been good at killing people without leaving evidence.

So lets recap

The Terminator is a sci-fi story but with intimidating horror and action.

The future story is this, well From 1985

Mankind makes Artificial intelligence called Skynet that has become so advanced that it wants to destroy humans! By itself making robots, tanks, lasers and terminators

Skynet basically causes the world nations to destroy each other by firing nukes at each other and wiping out most of the population

and in the future, the resistance fights back and starts to slowly win the war with their leader John Connor

So Skynet sends one of its terminators back in time to kill John Connor’s mother Sarah before John was born. So they would win in the future. Also in the future, the resistance sends back a solder in the name of Kyle Reese to protect Sarah against the Terminator

So back to the future of 1985

Sarah Conner is a shy cafe worker who seems to always get the pervert clientele, She works a day shift and has a flat with a roomy who always has her headphones on even during sexy times.

Then all of a sudden a man from the future comes into her life and starts stalking her

Her world is turned upside down and she is scared and runs into a nightclub as she is scared of this strange man following her.

Then the Terminator also from the future puts a lasergun to her head in this nightclub and then the strange man that’s been following her attacks this Terminator and wins the battle for now.

Kyle Reese is this strange man who takes Sarah Corner under her wing and tries to explain the future but Sarah is in panic and disbelief, She really doesn’t trust him as he looks like another pervert from the cafe shop. Or just another pervert!

So she gets in custody with the police as she does not know how to trust this Kyle Reese

It is so like taking the blue pill or the red pill…..

But this is where the story breaks her as she takes the red pill when the Terminator crashes into the police station and practically kills everyone except a few which is herself, Kyle Reese and just a few others!

So the story begins and on that note, I’m going to stop the recap right here as I don’t want to spoil the party for you if you have not seen it!

Let us do the Negatives of the Terminator

Negatives

Being a nerd, I’m being very picky here as the whole Terminator stories have what is known as THE grandfather paradox theory!

if the terminated succeded in killing John or any of his ancestry. John wouldn’t exist therefore no terminator would be sent back Therefore John survives, therefore, A terminator is sent back etc. etc. etc. but that’s just me being picky

and Skynet, if you listening, why don’t you just kill Kyle Reese when he was a boy or his mother – if you know you know you stupid artificial intelligence.

I hope they don’t kill off John Conner in any of the sequels

It has one of the cheesiest lines ever, “Come with me if you want to live” and that’s pronounced in so many sequels as well. It worked well in this film but the so many repeats of this line make the line cringe

The special effects are very dated now especially the the cyborg at the end!

Positives

Apart from me being picky about the grandfather paradox – The story is still amazing, as in a young Sarah Corner who is shy as feck and lives going nowhere and she meets Kyle Reese without a spoon and now she’s the most important person in the whole world since Mary had her baby Jesus!

The cast is bloody spot on from the shy Linda little Babylons, Machalangilo bean and of course, I’ll be back steroid junky Arm old, they play it almost spot on.

The sound score especially in the background seems brilliant, with the little piano playing in deep scenes is just great.

Great action, great horror especially at the end in the factory

You get to see Some lovely little Babylons! Grenades and bazookas due to the lovely Linda, let us take a look >

Overall

Overall The Terminator is still a great film and I will still watch it every 5 years or so and that’s why I’m giving it a

Geez Us would love this film and so would you

It is still a solid 4 out of 5 stars and defo one to add to your sci-fi collection.
