Forget baby Yoda, this is the cutest Alien baby ever…Little C.J
Today’s Video District 9 review, A sci-fi film that actually has a storyline!
The debut film from Neil Blomkamp, who wrote and directed it also produced by the legendary Peter Jackson
so Let us recap the story of the prawns
The Aliens have landed, well sort off
So we start off this film with a documentary about aliens which when I first watched it at the cinema, I thought I was not going to be sitting here long but how wrong was I
This short documentary was designed to give us the back storyline and it worked really well, it was not too overwhelming and not too boring but gave us the viewer just the right information about the situation.
So the alien pawns crashed and landed on earth, well sort off = ran out of fuel more like
as their crash landing left the big mother ship hovering in the sky for a few months then all the human world decided to board it and to their astonishment, they found all these alien pawns that were very weak
After a while, they bring them down to earth and set up camps for them to help them
After a few years go by the MNU (which is a big business and they also deal in weapons)
wants to relocate the prawns to a different place after the humans have had enough of them and that’s the beginning of the story
Our main lead in this film is Biggest Dickcus who basically only got a good job cause he married into it, he has to go and get the signatures of these alien prawns to re-locate them unfortunately for our main guy he gets accidentally gets a facial by alien DNA
A good crying, what the fuck happened there scene. Where have I seen this before, oh yes… he gets battered and bruised
NOT by the actual aliens I must add but a mixture these aliens have created
This accidental jizz shot slowly transforms him in the story from human to Alien
So at the beginning of this film, our hero biggus dickus was a young healthy man that was slowly becoming successful through the film he becomes a very desperate hybrid alien that will try anything to get him back on track
and that’s the basis of the plot without spoiling too much for you if you have not seen it.
This film’s plot also represents the apartheid era in South Africa in 1948 in which we humans are stupid dicks, separating the whites from all other different coloured humans.
There is only 1 type of human in history that we should deffently do apartheid within the whole world and that’s serious stupid people – flat-earthers anyone!
Negatives
The shaky camera, Just kidding, I personally like this style in this movie but I know a lot of people who were negative about it. It might put you off watching it. But I doubt it.
There are lots of tiny tiny negatives but you will not see them watching this film for the first few watches. But that’s it!
Positives
Little C.J is the cutest of alien kids and that goes for baby boogie, little C.J is cute as hell and I hope they bring out merchandise for him
The CGI Is really well done in this film, you could actually believe these aliens walk amongst us, It is that good.
Shitarto’s cosplay playing the lead biggus dickus in his first-ever film performance is bloody incredible. His movie arc from the beginning, from being a bit of a human wetty to becoming an Alien prawn.
During his arc in this film, you can see how desperate he becomes, the pressure really gets to him and he does not for a moment think about any of the risks he takes. He has his former company after him as well as a witch doctor that believes consuming him will make him powerful
A brilliant 5-star performance
Overall
District 9 is a one-of-a-kind film that works all the way from the beginning to the end. It is very very original
the transformation of the main character biggest dickus from being from a wealthy family into being a poor alien pawn being desperate is a brilliant arc! One minute, you marry a beautiful woman and into money then slowly you are a poor pawn. Desperation works wonders.
It shows that every one of us could be in this situation, so let us keep our feet on the floor.
It is a movie that makes you feel both sides of the coin. Being rich or being very poor
Everything in this film works and works well from the human emotional side to the emotional pawn side.
It really does make us think about how well we as a species treat each other like shit. Which we do, doesn’t matter what skin colour we are, doesn’t matter what country we are born or what religion we are.
We are shit to each other
This film is without a doubt a fantastic film but for me, I wouldn’t watch it every year but it is a Geez Us would love this film and so would you.
A good solid 4 out of 5, Go buy it and enjoy!
Do you agree? did you love the film more than me? or did you hate it, would love to hear your cheese so comment with your own expertise?
